SPEECHES AND REPRESENTATIONS FROM THE PROFESSION AS A TEACHER ACTIVE IN WOMEN'S MAGAZINE COVERS “REVISTA NOVA ESCOLA”(PORTUGUÊS)

It's a fact that the schools of basic education from Foz do Iguacu - PR have a significant amount of female teachers compared to male teachers, the same was observed in countless magazine covers "Revista Nova Escola" (Português). Interests to this work, the various speeches run through the representation of the profession teacher, in some selected layers. The corpus includes pictures and illustrations, coupled to set out, through language, highlight the representation of the teaching profession in the universe as essentially feminine. Speeches and representation of female imagery corroborates that produces and reproduces demarcations and distinctive female stereotypes. The idea is precisely describe what forms of femininity are strengthened, arguing, imagined, finally, collaborating with the construction of culture. These representations contribute to maintain and strengthen the identity of women in teaching, especially in the initial years of schooling. Demands, not an interpretation, but a possibility of assigning new visions for the images carried by the print media. For this analysis, we look for theoretical reasoning in Hall (1987); Goffman (2005); Fischer (2001), among other authors.
