IDENTIFYING SOME MEANINGS OF THE PREFIX DES -: PRELIMINAR ANALYSIS

This article treats about an initial sounding and intends to identify a lexical productivity of the prefix "des" as well as the semantical changings provoked by it when it is before the words that admit it as a suffix. For that, 80 chronicles taken from the book Antologia de crônicas organized by Herberto sales are considered. This analysis intends (i) to verify which would the semantic values admitted by the prefix "des" be in a general way, (ii) to analyse the semantic changings inserted by the prefix "des"into the words it can be combined and also, (iii) to face, quantitatively its occurrences in different grammar classes.
