The essay discusses the concept of strange in the tale of Hoffmann and in psychoanalysis and emphasizes the robot as a representative figure of the stranger. Get the double and mentions the literary texts where we can find it. Works the interaction between the human body and concepts of "strange" and "double", through artistic activities related to the body. In this context, the technology emerges as a tool for both the artist and for the medical sciences manipulate the body and act on it. It is also undertaken by the body changes in the contemporary subject as a result of technological advance.
