Abstract

The spreading of new technologies and the facility of access to the computer and
the Internet has changed social and cultural practices significantly. After overcoming the initial
vision that the Internet would be an obstacle to the educational area, we are now facing a new
problem: the non-legitimacy of textual production in cyberspace. Admittedly, the virtual network
of computers has been a plentiful field for research and a facilitator for the democratization of
access to articles, academic journals, e-books, etc. Similarly, the Internet has provided new
experiences in the field of reading, and has redeemed the tradition of writing in literary blogs and
sites. Consequently, the high culture and educational areas, exercising its power of legitimating
office, have classified this production as low quality. This article tries to show how the legitimacy
is built and the importance of a change of paradigm related to the digitization of writing, and
therefore, the digitization of knowledge.
