This study investigates the status of the Nymph in the symptom-images of Portuguese lyrical poetry, exploring its capacity for migration and permanence over time. It analyses how certain images preserve qualities that allow them to transcend different temporalities, surviving beyond history. The theoretical framework is based on the reflections of Giorgio Agamben and Georges Didi-Huberman, who approach the Phantom Nymph as a symptom of the discourse on contemporary art. The research seeks to understand how the centrality of the Nymph influences current philosophical thought and its relationship with contemporary aesthetics.
