Abstract

This article aims at making some reflections, by means of bibliographic research, on a recurrent topic in the scientific fields, that is, the cultural issues related to the teaching of Natural Sciences (Science, Chemistry, Physics and Biology) in the Brazilian schools. The links between cultural elements and the teaching and learning processes in the subjects of Natural Sciences need to be urgently and carefully discussed, both at the scientific level, through research, and at the level of teaching practice in the classroom. The justification for this is the absence of such aspects in the everyday concerns of education professionals of Basic Education and in their formal education processes. In this sense, this article suggests relevant resizing of actions in Science teaching, based on aspects related to some important cultural elements.
