THE PAIN AND THE TEAR IN CINEMA AND LITERATURE: A PRELIMINARY STUDY
Keywords:
Dor, Lágrimas, Amor, Memória, Morte.Abstract
This article is based in the literary works and filmic Anna Karênina, The Lady of the Camellias and Lucíola, in which we want to establish the relationship between the respective protagonists who have similar feelings about love, suffering and tears, and, during their life trajectories their destinations culminate to the same purpose, death. We aim to understand how pain and tears are linked to memories of the past, or, how the memory is manifested in their minds by showing them the impossibility of permanence, or even a future in society to which they belong. It is intended to analyze the image of such suffering woman whose suffer comes from unrequited love, or even the inability to love and being loved integral and completely. They renounce to love, but the manifestation of memory, torment them and lead them to their own self-punishment and self-condemnation, because they do not feel worthy of raising a family relationship in a society that punishes and denigrates the image of the prostitute or adulteresses. The alternative is the death, the only option that will freed them of this social environment that condemns and does not give them a second chance. So, death can be understood as the morality of society, in which the heroine must die to not denigrate the image of other women in the social context in which they belong. This work it is a literature and intertextual research among the many works listed above, starting from different theoretical assumptions about the purposed topics.
