Abstract

Much has been said about the novel Dona Flor and her two husbands, published in 1966, by  Jorge Amado. However, the lines of discourse realized that sexual impulses and the desire from Dona Flor do not come for free. From that perspective, this paper has as main purpose to investigate this narrative under the bias of psychoanalysis and literature carnivalization Theory, postulated by scholars in the field, as Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Roberto Da Matta, among others. The present universe in this work enshrines the biases of the dictatorship in Brazil and, therefore, reveals a world that escapes the usual standards of morality imposed by the system. In this sense, it will examine how dona Flor sexual desire is able to trigger an carnivalized atmosphere averse and, in an existence with her two husbands.
