The work in question is the educational trajectory of black Gama and aims to rebuild their social and educational history in order to map and highlight the strategies made by him and how these strategies have enabled him to build a rather unique trajectory for the time . That is, the black slave Luis Gama becomes shyster abolitionist and prominent in the nineteenth century. By focusing on the trajectory of black Luis Gama, this work is also aimed visibility for possible relationships that blacks settled with education in the nineteenth century, and launching contributions to the field of History of Education.Keywords: Black and Education; Trajectories and Strategies; History of Education.
