Abstract

Many studies and reports of experiences in education have been showing that the playful component is extremely important in the teaching-learning content in basic education schools, being not different from the discipline of Physical Education. Thus, the purpose of this study is to present the manifestation of playful in physical education classes in upper grades of elementary school. This research was characterized like a descriptive qualitative approach, in which the report was the essence of the teachers for their development. It studied five physical education teachers, three from public schools and two from private schools, both from Marechal Cândido Rondon, PR. To obtain the data, we performed a semi-structured interview with the teachers. The analysis was performed descriptively and confronting with the specific theoretical references. It can be noticed that for the manifestation of playful in physical education classes, teachers same as recognizing and realizing the importance credited to this component, have difficulty in directing their classes in this feature. Regarding factors that hinder the presence of recreational classes, including: the lack of respect from students, lack of organization and commitment of teachers in relation to class, as well as the lack of knowledge about the playful, the heterogeneity of students, sportsmanship culture and the students resistance to game/play playfully.
