Abstract

Processes in public administration are often characterized by bureaucracy and slowness. However, there are ways to respect the legislation and ensure efficiency. Modernization through the implementation of computerized systems brings interesting innovations by providing solutions to known problems. The Municipal Department of Public Works and Urban Services in Contagem operated for many years without digital systems. It is in this context that the partial implementation of computerized systems was proposed and accepted. This work aims to investigate the position of employees regarding the impact of using these systems to optimize public management in construction projects. The work is a case study that relied on a mixed-method methodology and used questionnaire and documentary/bibliographic research techniques. The analysis of the case showed that the change process faced resistance from some employees, but the adoption of these systems had a positive impact and partially met the demands and objectives that were sought.
