Abstract

Teenage pregnancy is a special risk situation for both the mother and the fetus. Complications are common for both during gestation period and as well as after the birth of the newborn. The study aims to characterize the reproductive and sociodemographic of the pregnant teenagers from 10 to 19 years old, treated in Cascavel - PR city from 2010 to 2019. The data has been extracted from information of the System of Information’s of Living Births (SINASC) available on the Unique Health System Computing Department (DATASUS). From the pregnant teenagers computed by the database, 14,65% were of the ages 15 to 19 years and 85,35% were adults. Total of pregnant teenagers 45% were single and 45% declared to be in a stable relationship; frequented school from 8 to 11 years (76,74%); performed the inappropriate prenatal (15,99%) and 10,31% had a gestation period lesser than 37 weeks. It is inferred that despite the high related rates, teenage pregnancy still is related with the lack of planned parenthood, low-income and school evasion.
