Archetype of Paradise: Images of Sacred Space in the Gonçalves Dias poetic
Keywords:
Archetype, Sacred Paradise, Imaginary, Gonçalves Dias.Abstract
With the romantic utopia, the poetry of Gonçalves Dias expresses the feeling for his homeland, elevated to the condition of sacred place, in our view, the archetype of earthly paradise, where nature transmits the charm to those who live far away, abroad. Thus, according to the critical-methodological proposal of the Imaginary (JUNG, 2012; ELIADE, 2010a; DURAND, 2011 among others), a reflection will be made on the image of sacred space in the poetry of Gonçalves. Structured in a theoretical analysis, the article embraces from a historical perspective of paradise until its archetypal condition of the Brazilian paradise in the work of Dias, even considering how the poetics of Gonçalves presents the crisis of national identity since its origin.
