VISUAL CULTURE AT COUNTRY SCHOOL SPACE

The following article of master’s degree dissertation in linked to the line of
research of ‘Education and Arts’ of the program of post graduation in education from the
Federal University of Santa Maria/RS. It has as objectives investigate how the teachers realize
the visual culture in the universe of Dilermando`s de Aguiar/RS primary municipal public
school. The methodology is characterized by on qualitative approach, whose method was the
Study of the Case. The data were collected by semi-structured interviews and narrative by the
images, beyond the diary. The theoretical referential was constructed by reflections and
discussions, in contact with the thoughts of the authors as EFLAND; FREEDMAN e STUHR
(2003); FREEDMAN (2006); HERNÁNDEZ (2000; 2006; 2007); MIRZOEFF (2003);
BREA (2005); MARTINS (2008) e DIAS (2008), which broach about the importance of
discussion of visual and cultures in curriculums, the contemplation of this relation in theteaching plannings, and finally, eventually the relevance of the images and the interpretations
of the visual representations.
