LANGUAGE CONCEPTIONS: A BRIEF ANALYSIS

The fallowing paper presents, from the last centuries, different language conceptions and its uses in society. Two important methods of language teaching are presented along with the linguistic theories that brought them to life. Finally, the evidence of the importance of studies about language variety resulting from language contact is pointed out, in order to find a better understanding of plurilingualism matters.
