Abstract

Introduction: Primary health care professionals have access to user health information when carrying out care/assistance. Given this, it is opportune to discuss the issue of secrecy and privacy of information in teamwork. Objective: address the importance of secrecy in carrying out multidisciplinary work, exposing the experience of PRMSF Social Service residents in the development of an educational action on the importance of preserving professional secrecy by professionals from the ESF teams during the consultations carried out in the PHC. Methodology: Descriptive-reflective, qualitative study, of the experience report type, built from the experience of residents of Social Work in the Family Health Units (USF), in the municipality of Cascavel-PR, between the months from March to November 2022. Results and discussions: Situations that are obstacles to the realization of this right were identified, namely: comments about users in collective places, assistance in inappropriate physical spaces that do not guarantee the confidentiality of the assistance; registration in an electronic medical record to which many have access and referral to the intersectoral network. From the perception of these problems, an educational action was developed with the purpose of discussing the importance of preserving secrecy and confidentiality by health professionals. Conclusion: From this discussion, the importance of secrecy and privacy and the need to strengthen permanent education for the multidisciplinary team are highlighted, aiming at the improvement and quality of the service offered.
