Abstract

The study aimed to rescue and value circle songs as cultural manifestations and pedagogical tools in school Physical Education. The research was conducted with 94 children from the early grades of elementary school in Toledo-PR, involving four stages: prior knowledge assessment, investigation of family repertoire, experiencing the songs in class, and parental participation in activities. The results indicated that practicing circle songs strengthened socialization, promoted cultural appreciation, and improved interaction between children and parents. Additionally, a reduction in competitive behaviors and an increase in playful participation during recess were observed. It is concluded that incorporating these manifestations into the school context contributes to students' motor, cognitive, and emotional development, while also preserving cultural traditions.
