Reflections on motor education in early childhood education

Abstract

This study addresses the relevance of Motor Education in Early Childhood Education within daycare centers and preschools. The objective was to explore pedagogical practices that promote the integral development of children aged 0 to 6, considering motor, cognitive, and socio-affective domains. The research examines aspects such as the need for qualified professionals, the inclusion of playfulness, and cultural interaction in the educational process. The results highlight that employing dynamic and creative methodologies, with physical activities tailored to children's characteristics and needs, enhances motor development and autonomy. It is concluded that Motor Education should be grounded in meaningful experiences, respecting the children's cultural context, and integrating pedagogical practices based on creativity and enjoyment.
