Abstract

Starting from a premise stated by Maria Nazareth Soares Fonseca (2004), according to which literature developed by African authors resembles that produced in cultural environments where, as in Brazil, the figure of women remains socially marginalized, this work aims to propose a dialogue between the poetics of Ana Paula Tavares, an Angolan writer, and Adélia Prado, a Brazilian writer, in order to emphasize similarities regarding the approach to female subjectivities. In this sense, three poems by each author will be analyzed in parallel, respectively, namely: “Rapariga”, “MUKAI (2), “Ex-voto”, “Com licença poética”, “Solar” e “Lembrança de maio”. Through a reading of these productions, we aim to demarcate points of convergence between perceptions about women that, at the heart of everyday experiences with well-defined social paradigms, imply broad and unexpected possibilities of interaction with the world. Although some of these possibilities cross traditionally defined conjunctures, which, especially in Tavares' texts, prove to be significant for the preservation of ancestral memories, the majority points to other alternatives, expanding the borders of a socio-existential space. In this way, through various research already carried out on the poets' works, those linked to the potential of gesture and eroticism towards the complexification of bodily and identity expressions will be discussed, among other aspects.
