Abstract

The development of sustainable technologies presents an important global need, as it represents a relevant issue for the quality of life and survival of living beings on the planet. Therefore, this article seeks to answer the following research question: what are the challenges and perspectives of using electric vehicles in the national territory for the development of this resource, with an emphasis on socio-environmental factors? A theoretical essay was carried out, through bibliographical research in the Spell, Scopus and Web of Science databases focusing on the theme covering the period of the last 5 years. The country presents a great futuristic perspective about its territorial characteristics, as it is very easy to use natural resources, mainly regarding the use of solar and wind energy. Alternative sources are fundamental to the composition of the national energy matrix, which will require, in the long term, a greater energy generation capacity to supply the possible fleet change that will occur with a view to sustainable development.
