Abstract

This paper, as part of a larger project entitled "Teacher Training in the South of Minas Gerais in the Decade of 70: Political and Economic Development Period", developed by the Center for Studies and Research in Ethics, Politics and History Brazilian-NEPHEB education, aims at analyzing the School Institutions constitution process of teacher training in the south of Minas Gerais, in the period with the closing of the Institute Saint Dorothy (1911-1976), of a private nature elitist and training for the transition to the Normal Course at the State Public School José Marques de Oliveira, when the state assumed for himself the training of teachers. By cataloging of primary and secondary sources of interest in this project and for the History of Education in the mining south, we maintained the first contacts with the school institution training teachers in the city of Pouso Alegre / MG. A literature review of existing literature on teacher education in Brazil in the period of 70s to 2000s of bibliographies on the same matter was held. Collected up through desk research at the Museum "Tuany Toledo" Alegre / MG Landing, images and figures depicting the education in this period. There was the political link the period of dictatorship with the educational project of the time, the impact of change in the pedagogical practices of teachers, and which differed in the formation of each. It is understood that the teacher training projects for Brazilian basic education responds to a social need according to their historical period, which leads us to realize that what is happening in the XXI century in Brazil in educational terms, training that meets the labor market in the past attended the elite of reaffirmation in power to assist the public space of education be forged for this class, the school institution as elite warranty extension in the public and economic power.
