Abstract

This research analyzes some of the requirements, the possibilities and the limits placed on the ability and the concrete conditions of managers viabilizarem the in-service training of teachers. This work was carried out from the analysis of the regulation that deals with the profile of the school principal of São Paulo and especially the verification of some of the operational and physical aspects of the institutions. Such verification was built through the monitoring of the work of a group of managers, of the state of basic education in Araraquara-SP, which is part of the "Incubator Managers". The analysis carried out shows that although it is expected the director the ability to "promote and define continuing education actions" (Res. SE 52/2013), often the physical structure, the difficulty of gathering all the staff and the lack of financial resources They are configured as limiting the implementation of training actions in service
