Abstract

Coercive control is defined as the use of aversive stimulation to control behavior. Participated in this research, aiming to describe the students' perception about the coercive control used by teachers in the classroom, 119 students of 4th year of elementary school. Students responded to the Inventory Teacher Leadership Styles (IELP), and analyzed in this article the results of size coercive control. Boys realized greater coercion levels than girls. All the teachers had, in view of the students, some level of coercive control, even if minimal. It is suggested the development of skills or training to enable teachers discriminate aversive control of coercive control.
