Abstract

Paulo Reglus Neves Freire, a name that never diffused according to own " Paulo
Freire ", was built along many years dedicated to think and to do education. As time line,
this research is to present the period of exile in Chile between the years 1964 to 1969,
where the teacher produced a significant works that have focused worldwide in education,
in the midst of a country that welcomed and also housed other thinkers who have also
contributed to the stoning of that intellectual without borders. Stands out in this study his
activism in organized movements, and especially his involvement with workers in rural
areas of Chile that have become important and decisive for the production of his magnum
opus which was, at that moment, the writing of Pedagogy of the Oppressed.
