INFLUENCES OF POPULATION AND SOCIOECONOMIC OF THE DISTILLERIES COOPROCAMI/COOPERB II IN MIRASSOL D'OESTE, MATO GROSSO

Abstract

In 1981 he was installed in Mirassol D'Oeste, Mato Grosso, an ethanol distillery, which has been idle for the period 1992 to 2002 and reactivated in 2002. The objective was to investigate the influence of the distilleries had in the population flow and socioeconomics the city of Mirassol D'Oeste. The methodological procedures consisted of literature review, interviews with those responsible for distilleries, gathering and processing of secondary data from the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística, integration and analysis, culminating in the study results. The analyzes showed that there were three periods with different influences: 1981-1991, 1992-2002, and 2002 to 2011. The municipal population increase was due to the government settlement programs and the emergence of the distillery, which attracted population groups according to the periods of influence. The distillery also promoted economic growth to the city through increased tax revenue and investments, reflecting the improvement of social indicators.
