How to do anthroponymy without “dying” trying

Access to sensitive information belonging to citizens is sanctioned and regulated by Mexican laws (as in other countries) with the aim of protecting personal data in the possession of ‘sujetos obligados’ and of individuals, so that no person can misuse it. The foregoing represents a methodological problem for those who work on anthroponomy, because it becomes an obstacle to accessing our object of study: the names of people, which are also linguistic, historical, social and cultural data, which we will submit to analysis. Without data, no research.In this paper I describe the procedures and mechanisms used to carry out (two) anthroponomic studies, within the legal framework.
