Validation of a mobile application prototype to improve the workflow in a marble mill

Abstract

This study aimed to validate a mobile application prototype that aimed to improve the workflow of a marble factory through checklists. Field research, of an applied nature, carried out in a marble factory in Western Paraná, with 29 years of experience. The company, which serves several segments, manufactures personalized products and has 23 employees. The process involved mapping and reviewing the company's current processes, with the need to improve and implement checklists in order to reduce rework and increase the efficiency of the production process. The Figma online platform was used to develop the design of the artifact screens. As a result, the prototype of the mobile application was validated with the company owner, who highlighted the importance of the contribution of a Production Engineering professional in analyzing the processes and proposing to improve the marble workshop's workflow.
