Abstract

This paper aims to put into discussion a tendency of Marxism referenced in the "ontology of social being" that has been present in researches and studies in Brazil’s education. However, it’s to address something quite delimited within this trend: a particular reading of Hungarian philosopher György Lukács work as a starting point for examining the educational phenomenon that, in my opinion, indicates a use of essentialist form of work's category. Professor Ivo Tonet will be considered in this text as an important expression of this trend and his writings will be, therefore, the sources for the discussion proposed here.
