Abstract

This paper presents the Information System "Brazilian Black Memory" from journalistic sources of information and that is part of the Center for Afro-Asian Studies, located on the Candido Mendes University - Rio de Janeiro. To expose it uses up a clipping from the period starting in 1972 and going to 2012. Its production was through the clippings service, the last 40 years, the most important Brazilian media after 1970. The work on the "File Black memory "objective illustrate the importance of the contents of your collection that is one of the most significant collections for the preservation of african-Brazilian history after the 70s of the twentieth century, when several achievements took place. It is noticed that the role of information and knowledge is crucial to explain to all the daily events of a social group which in this case are the african-Brazilian. The chosen methodology was based on a qualitative case study. Data collection instruments grounded it on a literature review with the purpose of building a theoretical framework to support the understanding of the phenomenon. The article reviewed the literature published developing articulated concepts of Information, Document and Memory by renowned authors. They were established also the concepts of Information Systems, Information Journalistic sources, besides the history of the creation of this unique Memory Place.
