Abstract

In a general way, studies on african religions guidance in Brazil have about how these religions were organized, highlighting the greater or lesser degree of syncretism in relation to the Catholic religion or the degree of preservation of values and rituals taken as originally africans. Although it was constituted by black, african or descendants, over time the african guidance religions also started to add white or half-breed without apparently hierarchies and tensions generated by racism and racial inequality interfering in religious practice. This work proposes to identify the religious practice of candomblé in Alagoinhas, their constituent public in terms of racial identity, alleged racial relationships and the dynamics of these relationships in the spaces of these religious practices.
