Abstract

This paper presents a bibliographic survey of Brazilian academic production on Mathematical Modeling and Environmental Education published in Portuguese from 2006 to 2016. A literature search was carried out in Google Scholar, Brazilian postgraduate programs in Mathematics Education, CAPES databank of Brazilian theses, and Scielo databases. The search revealed the existence of at least four master dissertations, nine articles published in scientific journals and five full papers published in events related to mathematics teaching. Three main thematic focuses were characterized: Mathematical modeling and reflection on environmental problems; Mathematical modeling and awareness of environmental problems; Mathematical modeling and awareness of ecological problems; Mathematical Modeling and its influences for possible changes of attitudes. The explicit relations in each thematic focus were represented through concept maps.
