Abstract

The article presents the results of a research on the permanence of black students in higher education. The locus of the investigation was the Training Center for Teachers of the Federal University of the Recôncavo of Bahia. For the construction of the data we use a qualitative research, using, for this, the narrative interview. We highlight the "place" of affirmative action and its role in meeting the needs of black students, particularly their stay in university.
