Abstract

This article started from the question: how cultural diversity is present in teacher training in the Course of teaching in Curitiba and metropolitan region? Since the National Curriculum Guidelines of the Training of Teachers of Early Childhood Education and early years of elementary school, at secondary school level in Normal mode, is based on the country’s cultural diversity. Curriculum documents of two courses State Colleges, in Curitiba and metropolitan region were analyzed, Directors and coordinators of these courses were also interviewed. The study shows that the official documents of Brazil, stressed the importance of incorporating cultural diversity in curriculum of teacher training. However, in order to form multicultural citizens, who can live with differences, and overcome of discrimination and preconception present in the everyday life of our society, this insertion must move forward. This is an opportunity to build relationships more humane and more democratic, where everyone has the right to express themselves and live with more dignity.
