PROFILE OF RESEARCH IN TEACHER TRAINING IN ASTRONOMY EDUCATION IN THE BRAZILIAN CONTEXT

Abstract

This article aims to clarify the profile of research on teacher education in astronomy education through publications in six national circulation periodicals involving the teaching of sciences, physics and astronomy. The magazines analyzed were: ALEXANDRIA – Revista de Educação em Ciência e Tecnologia, Caderno Brasileiro de Ensino de Física, Ciência & Educação, Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Ciências, Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Física, Revista Latino-Americana de Educação em Astronomia (RELEA), totalizing 3029 papers published in the last 17 years. In order to identify such production and to know the main trends of research in this field, it was found 29 articles that were analyzed according to the following aspects: objective, methodology, target audience, thematic focus of the study and conclusion. Through a qualitative analysis, it was observed that they address both, the initial training as continuing education, reporting teaching knowledge, preconceptions and alternatives, and developed the extension activities. Through this work we conclude that the teacher’s training profile for Astronomy Education is diversefied, covering researches with focused themes, involving understanding the school environment, teaching and learning tools and teachers knowledge. Finally, as a perspective for future works, it is Necessary to to step up the thematic line of teacher training in Astronomy Education.
