Abstract

In this paper we will present the results of an investigation into what the students from two degree courses express about their learning experience when doing mathematical modeling activities. The data used in the analysis, in part, originate from a course of Supervised Practice in Basic Education of Mathematical graduation and, in part, from a course in Differential and Integral Calculus 1 of a Chemical degree course. As from grouping organized about the students' expressions about their learning we understanded that the course where happened the experience with mathematical modeling and the context from each course, somehow, direct the reflections of the each group and give meaning the mathematical modeling activities.
