Abstract

This article is an experience from a stage in a discipline of the Special Graduate Program in the Federal University São Carlos. Aimed to describe the development of a collaborative partnership between a special education professional and regular education teacher who struggled to include a pupil with special educational needs. This study was conducted in a municipal school in the city of São Carlos in São Paulo. Data were collected through direct observation and recorded in a diary. The monitoring of this teacher was conducted during three months in the first half of 2010, with weekly visits to the intern's school. The results show the whole development of the partnership through the collaborative teaching between the intern and the regular education teacher and from the data it was observed that this partnership has reached the level of collaboration.
