Abstract

This paper aims to present, discuss and defend the social representations theory as a research method the most important for education, being one of the most representative ways of understanding with regard to analyzing the relationship between the individual and society. Thus, when developing a search using the theory of social representations, we are able to get a closer knowledge and interpretations that individuals participating in the study have on your reality, constituting a reciprocal process of learning in order to reveal the apparent contradictions the studied phenomenon.
