Abstract

The aim of this work is to discuss the so-called "crimes of passion", that is, the attempted or consummated murders between affective and/or sexual partners, registered in the jurisdiction of the Judicial District of Toledo between 1954 and 1979, when they were appropriated and processed by the Criminal Justice System in Brazil. This study constitutes a theoretical-methodological reflection and an empirical research from primary sources on the type of crime in analysis. The purpose is to understand the phenomenon of the "crimes of passion", based on the reference bibliography and on the general patterns of these crimes that took place in the time and space delimited above.
