Abstract

This manuscript explores the Global Youth Climate Pact (GYCP) project in Paraná, funded by the Municipal Environmental Council of Guarapuava-PR. Grounded in Edgar Morin's theory of complexity and principles of Environmental Education, the project integrates theoretical and practical foundations for its reflections and actions. Participants include researchers from higher education, teachers, and students from basic education. The aim of this work is to present the methodological paths adopted by GYCP Paraná in its endeavor to contribute to addressing the climate emergency with a focus on the agency of young people in Paraná. Methodologically, the project is structured into five guiding stages: (1) Training; (2) Generating Theme; (3) Project; (4) Implemented Action; and (5) Socialization. We argue that GYCP has essential conditions to incorporate the discussion of the climate emergency into the school context through the presented methodology, enhancing the critical and contextualized civic education of the participants.
