Abstract

Agriculture plays a central role in the Brazilian economy, directly influencing the country's progress. Towards sustainable development, the UN proposed Agenda 2030, aiming to eradicate hunger and promote more sustainable agricultural practices. Simultaneously, Brazil stands out as one of the largest global consumers of pesticides, despite the growing demand for pesticide-free products. The preference for organic food reflects a shift in consumer behavior driven by concerns such as quality of life, health, and sustainability. Faced with the need to transition to agricultural models that reduce environmental harm, promote health, and still ensure high productivity and profit for the producer, this article aims to explore trends and challenges associated with sustainable development in Brazilian agriculture. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of responsible practices to ensure harmony between efficient agricultural production and environmental respect.
